Amite City Christmas parade set for Thursday | Events
The Amite City Chamber of Commerce's Christmas Parade is scheduled for tonight, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. through downtown. It had been scheduled for Dec. 4 but was postponed due to the rain.
The WAFB 9News This Morning team will serve as Grand Marshals.
"The morning show aired a two-hour show live in downtown Amite earlier this year. They did stories on local businesses and tourism in Amite. We want to show our thanks by having them be our Grand Marshal’s for the Parade," officials say.The theme is "All I Want for Christmas”. Awards will be given in four categories: Most Creative Entry, Best Live Musical Entry, Best Youth Entry, and Best “Reason for the Season” Entry.
